Our Brands

From the first idea to the next audience.

Subcurrent

Subcurrent is a Hollywood-backed online investment and production platform that matches investors with real, vetted, high-quality Hollywood and International film projects packaged with filmmaking veterans, bankable actors, and solid screenplays baked into their DNA.

Subcurrent filters out projects that don’t meet our standards for audience demands, genre popularity, individual involvement, or overall quality benchmarks. Subcurrent solely takes on projects that are strongly felt by company founders to have an excellent chance in all marketplaces — from theatrical & streaming to ancillary platforms beyond.

With executives and partners who have spent decades working behind the scenes in Hollywood finance, development, and international film & TV production, we source our projects from colleagues we have worked alongside for our entire careers.

Why work with Subcurrent? Simple: We love making waves.

Leitmotif Press

Leitmotif Press was first imagined on the picket lines of a Hollywood Writer’s Guild strike—born from the creative restlessness of screenwriters wondering what would happen if they just published and controlled their own material and grew it from there.

What began as daydreams between protest signs eventually became a real company: a publishing space run by writers, for writers; along with anyone else with a great story to tell. Today, Leitmotif Press publishes unique books, podcasts, and original content for readers and listeners of all ages. We're driven by creators who believe in meaningful narratives, honest insights, and unexpected perspectives. Our guiding principle—our leitmotif—is simple: tell great stories and help others do the same.

In addition to our international partner companies, BlueSpring Media™ controls five subsidiary wholly-controlled production companies, four of them in current or recent Commonwealth jurisdictions. That lets a project qualify as a treaty co-production (rather than an ordinary single-jurisdiction rebate) across multiple “home” markets, so outside filmmakers can lawfully stack incentives, widen financing options, and lower net cost—all inside familiar, English-language, common-law systems, as long as guidelines are properly followed. Our RebateSeeker app will also help guide the way.

Of course, we can arrange single-jurisdiction rebates as well. The difference in our multiple-market system is that we give producers and creatives more choices and better opportunities than they otherwise may have had.

Great stories take great partners.

Partner Brands

We work with many outside brands and corporations every day, because the media landscape is full of a lot of moving parts, even for any single project to get off the ground.

But some companies we share resources, ideas and cooperation with on a daily basis, for a variety of needs, and so we are closely linked to them. Their services include product placement (Mr. Foster); International co-production and development (MarlinSpike); marketing (Hello Marketing); direct talent pipeline deals (Evoke Entertainment; The Gersh Agency); project sharing and joint ventures (Branded Pictures, etc.); and our existing direct partnerships with TikTok and other social media platforms, via the CreatoRev Agency.

These and other affiliated companies are a big part of the backbone that allow us to stand where we are today.

Giving Back

Opening doors
for the next voice.

BlueSpring Media™ has grown to where it is today in part because of help along the way from many others who have believed in us, supported us, and opened doors for us. The same can be said for every other entertainment or production company.

Part of our way of giving back is supporting emerging voices who want to have a say; another part is by mentoring with and supporting the following institutions, and finding inspiration in the great work they’re doing for others every day. Here are a few of those:

Our Values

01

Start With a Great Story, then Tell It Everywhere

Bring in outside film and TV projects to shepherd into production, while also using our publishing division, Leitmotif Press, to act as a catalyst and incubator to create, publish, and expand IP for our writers and creatives, which we can in turn help produce for screens, with our companies around the world assisting to keep costs down via rebates, and production value high, via experience. In this way, we ensure everyone has a voice, and their story can be told.

02

Spend Smart and Get the Thing Made

Allocate outside resources as prudently and creatively as possible, generating the highest return to investors and creators as possible. Our wholly owned international production companies, and our partnerships beyond, are positioned to generate the best production rebates available to one another. Our collective production and development experience and our ability to control crews across all our international territories allow us to keep costs down, while remaining transparent every step of the way.

03

Blaze Independent Trails and Stay Ahead

Embrace the independent film and publishing spirit, become a place where new voices can feel at home, stay ahead of trends, and disrupt everything that audiences want disrupted, and that our creators can be rewarded for along the way.

04

Look to the Future

Lean forward, study trends, focus on changing popular genres in all media along with audience demands, and drive the change, rather than follow the flock. We consider ourselves leaders. Leaders don’t look back.

05

See Collaborations as Teams

Respect, trust, and work as equals with everyone inside and out of the company, including partners, creatives, and colleagues. Every story worth telling needs to be told, and this can only be accomplished through warm collaboration.
